
Accounting Manager

Summary:
This role will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and people management tasks. A successful candidate will be able to work independently and enjoy leading a diverse team of people (both in-house and outsourced). Candidate must be well-organized, flexible and a proven multi-tasker.
Critically important to this position is:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
The ability to interact with staff, senior leadership, external partners, auditors, etc. and adjust to your audience;
A continuous improvement mindset (identifying opportunities, proposing solutions and executing corrections);
Taking ownership over tasks and processes in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure; and
A strong attention to detail.
Primary Accounting Responsibilities:
Review journal entries for accuracy and in a timely manner during close.
Review account reconciliations for accuracy and quality.
Prepare quarterly deliverables related to balance sheet and P&L analysis.
Approve certain statutory filings and payments.
Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards (i.e. revenue recognition and lease accounting).
Assist with internal and external audits through coordination of requests and implementation of follow-up actions.
Partner with the business in continuous improvement efforts, projects, system implementations and other initiatives.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the department and manage the team through the change.
Partner with the Corporate Controllers group, the Division Finance teams, and functional counterparts to complete ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Draft and/or edit relevant end-to-end process flows or desk-top procedures.
Own certain administrative duties around general ledger master data maintenance and approval of user access rights.
Primary People Management Responsibilities:
Supervise a team (both in-house and outsourced) responsible for the several month-end close processes, account reconciliations, statutory reporting, intercompany accounting and commercial spend.
Maintain a consistent focus on talent development and performance management.
Hold team accountable to objectives and monitor team performance through metrics.
Travel to other Campbell locations to provide guidance, as necessary. Willing to travel up to 25%.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience required.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC requirements required.
Demonstrated leadership skills required.
Highly motivated and proactive in problem solving required.
CPA certification strongly preferred.
Relevant industry experience preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet deadlines and business demands preferred.
Experience with SAP and/or Blackline a plus.
Experience managing accounting team through a third-party service provider a plus.
Working Conditions
This position will work in a company headquarter (Camden, NJ) 3 days a week
Travel as needed (10-15%) to company meetings, company training, customer meetings, and other regions as business needs demand
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $85,900.00 - $158,900.00.
An individual’s base pay depends on a number of factors, such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation, such as a performance-based bonus and other short- and long-term incentives. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401(k), and wellness benefits beginning on one’s first day of employment.
