Bilingual HR Specialist

Kaye Personnel is looking for an Bilingual (Spanish) HR Specialist for a company located in Swedesboro, NJ.

Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-4:30pm

Pay: $22/hr


  • On a daily basis, obtain information from the HR Generalist to determine the temporary staffing needs within each non-office department.
  • Work with on-site staffing agency to fill open positions on a frequent basis.
  • Develop relationships with contacts at staffing agencies on file with TFI USA.
  • Conduct onboarding for all new temporary workers, both plant and office roles, including GMP training, safety training, facility tour, overview of PPE and department specific processes, introduction to manager, etc.
  • Create and assign badges to new temporary staff and replace lost badges as needed, tracking the replacement badges to issue citations to repeat offenders.
  • Compile the labor sheets for the Department Leads to complete daily.
  • Add new temporary staff to our online logbook, and provide the information to the HR Generalist to add to the employees into our Time & Attendance system in Primepoint.
  • Enter hours for new temps using paper timesheet once approved by manager.
  • Handle missed punches daily and confirm timecard corrections with managers.
  • Check the Attendance Line for all call-outs daily, and update the tracking of attendance, assigning points to staff accordingly and notifying management of write-ups to be issued.
  • Be the point person for all temp employees, answering payroll questions on Fridays, and any other issues that arise.
  • Collect documentation related to trainings (i.e., sign-in sheets, quizzes, etc.) and track in training spreadsheet.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs of each industrial area of the facility to check in on new staff to see how they are doing in their new role and address any concerns they may have.
  • Develop a rapport with the industrial staff and assist with questions or issues that arise.
  • Complete the Employee Feedback Form whenever an issue is discussed with industrial staff.
  • Act as the backup for coat dispensers (provide credits to employees who need coat).
  • Add/change/remove badge access for staff as needed.
  • Compile disciplinary paperwork for temporary staff, working closely with managers.
  • Make recommendations to the Director of HR for process improvements related to onboarding prior to making any changes.
  • Translate documents into Spanish and conversations for Spanish speaking staff as needed.
  • Conduct exit interviews with temporary staff who resign from their position
  • Assist the Safety team with safety inspections of the facility and address safety concerns with appropriate personnel.
  • Assist HR team with employee related events (lunches, summer treats, etc.).
  • Assist with other projects and tasks as requested by management within scope and abilities.


  • High school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred in business or human resources
  • 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a recruiting role for a food manufacturing facility
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, Monday – Friday starting at 7:30am and stay until all work for the day is completed (typical end time 4:30pm); overtime and weekend work as needed for business needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to build a rapport with staff and be a resource to them.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations and address issues that may arise with staff.
  • Ability to navigate through the programs within Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and ability to be involved in confidential conversations without discussing information with anyone outside of HR.
  • Ability to multitask and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter, able to take tasks and run with them, and work effectively with little supervision.
  • Detail oriented, results driven, strong time management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide input on developing new SOPs for recruitment and staffing needs.
  • Understand, abide by, and enforce all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by the company.
