Full Job Description
Ranch Hope is currently recruiting a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at our Alloway location. In this position you will be responsible for serving children and families with a wide range of mental health concerns and emotional issues. You will coach, train and guide all staff in a manner that contributes to ongoing education and improvement of medical treatment and will work with other members of the administrative team to ensure life safety requirements and treatment goals are met.

Knowledge:

Duties & Responsibilities:
Programmatic Leadership
- Report any and all allegations or concerns regarding abuse or neglect immediately to Program Director, Chief Operating Officer or the Administrator on Duty
- Maintain credentials as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse
- Conduct training sessions to Ranch Hope staff on proper medication management, electronic medical records and related health topics
- Maintain a consistent presence in the treatment units across various shifts to provide coaching and modeling of appropriate medical care
- Provides medication monitoring and follow-up visits for youth
- Routinely orders prescriptions and refills
- Provide initial psychiatric assessment for every youth upon admission
- Coordinate care with treatment team members
- Document all medical/clinical evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, referrals, education and consultations
- Works closely with Strang School nurse and Transportation Coordinator
PQI/Life Safety Management
- Serve as a liaison (or delegate) in meetings related to: Strategic Planning, PQI, Risk Management, Council on Accreditation, and others as needed
- Ensure medication administration standards and protocols are being met by reviewing all cottage MARs weekly and documenting and reporting any errors to the RTC and Assistant Spec Director and relevant nursing staff
Education & Professional Experience:
- Masters Degree in Nursing with advanced APN Psychiatry experience
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience
- Completion of Handle With Care training within first month of employment
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in electronic medical records
Certifications/Licenses Required:
- New Jersey license in adolescent APN Psychiatry
- CPR & First Aid Certification
- Valid Driver’s License

- Ability to visually monitor children
- Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively
- Ability to observe surroundings and quickly react to emergency situations
- Ability to physically restrain children as needed during crisis situations
