Location:  Central/South Jersey

NJ based construction consulting firm currently looking for a Commercial Roofing Monitor to join our team in South/Central New Jersey.  Applicant for this position should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the commercial roofing industry.  Must be proficient in reading and understanding roof drawings details and specifications.  Proficient in discussing roof details in the field as needed for inspection purposes.  Proficient in the identification of roof system materials and installation methods.  Must be physically able to climb ladders, access various sloped roofs, and work in the heat.  RRC or RRO accreditations are preferred but not required.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in roofing construction/monitoring or commercial roof installation experience, union stewardship preferred
• OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 certification
• Candidates must have strong time management skills and be self-motivated.
• Applicants must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in reading / understanding construction documents
• Proficient in reviewing roof system installations and documenting conditions observed Valid Driver’s License

Duties

• On-site monitoring of roofing work to assure that work is being performed in accordance with construction drawings/specs, best-practices or warranty stipulated installation procedures
• Coordinate client site visits
• Review concerns with client on-site
• Coordinate work of assistant to complete measurements of roof system & core cuts
• Inspection of roof system and identification of deficient conditions
• Documentation of conditions found, and measurements obtained
• Identify and document roof system compositions and / or as-built conditions
• Electronic Submission of written reports on a timely basis

• Reads blueprints of roofing systems and flashing details and make sketches of areas needing repair.
• Interprets terms of roofing contracts.
• Inspects contractor installation of new roofing for compliance with plans, specifications and schedule.
• Reports on the condition of roof and flashing systems and needed maintenance and repair work.
• Maintains files regarding roof maintenance and moisture survey data.
• Assists in approval of monthly payments to contractors.
• Maintains daily log of hours and work completed on all roofing projects.
• Assists in confirming location of permanent roof equipment.
