Director of Development


Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Development is responsible for managing the development and fundraising efforts for Catholic Partnership Schools (CPS). The Director is responsible for the donor engagement process - identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift

prospects on behalf of CPS. Working closely with the Executive Director, Chair of the Board, Board members, and other key leadership, the Director will manage the prospect pipeline and engage leadership to advance the fundraising priorities of CPS. The Director will also be responsible for select

cultivation and fundraising events. This individual is responsible for developing, marketing, and positioning CPS's strategic fundraising case and managing all components of the process. The Director will provide fundraising counsel and assistance to schools within the Partnership. Fundraising priorities of CPS include annual scholarships for students attending Partnership schools, scholarship endowment fundraising, and other priorities as needed.


Specific Responsibilities

● Build and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects - new and existing (active prospects of 100+).

● Secure $5M annually in outright gifts and/or new commitments.

● Actively engage prospects, solicit major gifts, and prepare leadership to solicit major gifts.

● Actively use Salesforce to track donor meetings, asks, and gift receipts.

● Drive the development of strategies for major gift prospects based on the gift cycle; manage and update strategies and next steps and utilize call reports.

● Manage pipeline and work closely with leadership (Board Chair, Executive Director, Advancement Committee) on prospect management, solicitation, and stewardship.

● Provide regular tracking and reporting on strategies and prospect status to CPS Leadership.

● Oversee and manage CPS marketing materials for fundraising, including but not limited to case statements and supporting materials.

● Develop and refine fundraising programs to increase donor involvement - e.g., founder's program, "sponsor a school", "sponsor a student".

● Oversee and manage specific development events for the partnership, including but not limited to cultivation dinner(s) and a major event fundraiser.

● Prepare and manage proposal writing and submission for foundations, corporations, and individuals.

● Identify, define, and lead special projects as requested.

● Determine and meet annual individual goals (monthly prospect visits, gifts commitments) and objectives within the context of the mission and vision of the CPS.

● Provide development/fundraising assistance to partnership schools on an as-needed basis as directed by the Executive Director.

● Serve as the CPS liaison and primary contact for the Development Committee of the Board.

● Ensure proper management of prospect data.
