Director of Finance

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll on a biweekly basis.
  • Manages all sick and vacation time accruals to ensure accounting software is accruing PTO correctly.
  • Input all new employee personal information, tax information and banking information into QuickBooks accounting software.
  • Deposit all cash and check donations into accounting software on a weekly basis.
  • Generate weekly deposit detail reports for the Resource Development team.
  • Assist in administrative duties such as filing documents and mailing invoices or pledges.
  • Assist in any other duties requested by the CEO.
  • Manage accounts receivable for grant reporting, special events and yearly pledges.
  • Support the CFO in forecasting year end expenses.
  • Manages the procurement process to ensure supplies are tracked and ordered in an effective manner.
  • Responsible for all unemployment and employment verifications from prior employees.
  • Assist CFO in annual audits.
  • Assists in creating and formalizing Accounting Department policies and procedures.

Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: It requires standing or seating in regular bases, talk and listening. Ability to use computer equipment, fax, copy machine, calculator etc. 

MENTAL DEMANDS: Ability to analyze problems, strategic planning and Project management. Ability to manage problems with concrete variables, collect data and valid conclusions. Ability to read reports and apply concepts.

COMMUNICATION: Excellent written and verbal language skills that would aloud clear communication internally and externally.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work in a normal office environment which can vary if necessary. It requires transportation between different places.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: BA in Accounting from an accredited college or 3 year equivalent experience, QuickBooks accounting software experience and at least 1 year of nonprofit experience
