
Fundraising Coordinator
Better Tomorrows is a mission-focused not for profit organization. We work to alleviate poverty by providing programs, supportive services, and case management to over 26,000 residents of affordable housing in more than 100 communities across the nation.
We are searching for a Fundraising Coordinator for our National Office. The successful candidate plays a key role in furthering Better Tomorrows’ fundraising and development initiatives in concert with the Director of Philanthropy. Specific focus includes: grants administration and corporate/volunteer management for fundraising efforts.
Location: Camden, NJ (occasional travel possible)
Duties:
- Assist in identifying new grant opportunities
- Disseminate new funding opportunities to appropriate staff
- Maintain current and accurate grant and grant reporting calendar
- Assist in “on-boarding” new grants
- Assist in responding to grant funder inquiries and questions
- Oversee grant implementation and reporting
- Monitoring grant finances and grant reporting
- Assist in recruitment of Corporate Volunteers
- Communicating and coordinating volunteer groups for projects
- Act as liaison to other organizations who are sending volunteers
- Maintain volunteer database and keep records of volunteer activities, including numbers of teams, volunteers, hours worked, contact information, etc.
- Ensure that volunteer liability waivers are signed and filed
- Develop and implement formal and informal volunteer appreciation program
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Outstanding communication, writing and interpersonal skills
Proactive, willing to innovate and learn
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work independently
- Outgoing personality, comfortable engagement new people and/or audiences
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Three to five years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising and stewardship or similar experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
