Ranch Hope is recruiting a full time Independent Living Program Manager. In this exciting position you will coordinate the programming for our non-licensed, semi-supervised, time-limited housing programs that provides support and services targeted to males age 18-21 who are homeless and/or NJDCPP involved. The program is designed to assist youth with learning daily living and life skills, obtaining employment, furthering their education, and preparing them for independent living, reunification with family, or another permanency arrangement. Since 1964 Ranch Hope has transformed lives of youth and families throughout the state of New Jersey.All applicants should have at least 2 years experience working with youth. Some supervisory experience preferred.

Position Summary:
Support the Core Values of Ranch Hope by upholding all standards relating to quality, partnership, integrity, empowerment, safety, stewardship and compassion. Manage independent living program to ensure that implementation of required activities are carried out and specified objectives are achieved in all program areas. Provide a variety of case management services to assigned clients and their families.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of State and federal laws regarding client/student rights to privacy
- Understanding of relevant reporting requirements for the State of New Jersey
- Understanding and compliance with staff to resident ratios required by licensing
- Understanding and compliance with all Ranch Hope policies and procedures
- Understanding of both trauma informed care and the Nurtured Heart Approach to treatment

Duties & Responsibilities:
· Direct, coordinate and supervise the Independent Life Skills program activities and staff assigned to the program
· Instruct and educate participants using the Ansel Casey Life Skills Program on how to effectuate employment opportunities, money management skills, independent life skills, how to access community resources, communication skills and decision making/problem solving skills
· Develop an assessment-based service plan with the full participation of program youth
· Responsible for prompt, responsive intake practices and assessments
· Possess case work, group work and case coordination skills
· Meet with related parties to discuss client’s progress and provide reports relating to their timeframes for reaching the goals that were identified on admission
· Direct activities relating to nutrition training, household maintenance etc.
· Ensure documentation is complete (including timeframes) assessment outcomes and daily progress notes, and case closing information
· Coordinate free time and/or recreational activity of clients
· Assist youth in meeting educational goals while in the program
· Assist youth in obtaining and maintaining employment
· Coordinate requisite dental, medical and optical and linked to necessary health services as applicable
· Transport youth to physician appointments, youth, court, etc.
· Train youth in landscaping design or applicable job readiness opportunities
· Serve as point of contact with all outside agencies representing the youth
· Assure that office and client areas are clean and in a good state of repair and report any hazardous or unsafe conditions daily
· Arrange for service coordination for youth with special needs, as appropriate
· Ensure the aftercare plan is developed sufficiently in advance of case closing to ensure orderly transition
· Responsible for updating the Independent Living Handbook when necessary
· Involvement with community outreach to promote the availability of a full range of youth services
· Prepare youth for a successful transitioning to independence, by ensuring basic resources are in place (income, healthcare, a committed adult and peer supports
· All other duties as assigned
Education & Professional Experience:
· Must have a minimum of three years of supervisory experience and two years’ experience working with children in a group setting
· Bachelor’s degree in human services, Sociology, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences or related field preferred
· Completion of Community Based Assessment (CBA) system training within first six months of employment
Certifications/Licenses Required:
· CPR and First Aid Certification
· Valid NJ Driver’s License

· Occasional carrying, bending and reaching
· Rare pushing pulling and reaching
· Hearing, speaking and seeing to communicate with clients
