Quality Mechanical Inspector


Company located in West Berlin area in need of Quality/Mechanical Inspector . Looking for reliable workers who are able to work a full-time set schedule (no weekends!). Must have good eye vision and hand coordination.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm

Salary: $17/hr

Summary:

The Quality Mechanical Inspector is responsible for maintaining that the company's products meet national and international quality standards.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • First Article, In-Process, and Final Inspections of precision machined components
  • Administer calibration procedures
  • Ensuring that all testing is performed to the highest standards.
  • Monitoring and examining each stage of production.
  • Distributing written Quality Assurance results to appropriate parties.
  • Monitoring all inspection and testing equipment
  • Performing all assigned task.
  • Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of product.
  • Ability to communicate inspection results and conclusions with production managers.
  • Complies with job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in the plant and corporate directives for safe performance of work assignment while following appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Develop and follow sampling plans per ANSI/ASQC Z1.4
  • Properly utilize essential safety gear

Competencies:

  • Expertise with use of various measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, height gages, plug gages, ring gages, thread gages, and other as required
  • Experience with using optical measuring machinery.
  • Ability to interpret drawings
  • Able to work overtime as required
  • Attention to detail. Inspecting for small defects in product.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Data entry. Entering inspection results into database.
  • Ability to prioritize and make quick decision.
  • Interpersonal Skills - the individual maintains confidentiality remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.
  • Dependability -the individual is consistently at work and on time, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
  • Adaptability- the individual adapts to changes in work environment with ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate using the English language. Bilingual candidates are a plus but not a requirement.
