Senior Manager, Grants/Grants Writer

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for researching potential funding sources and executing grant proposals for Atlantic Cape and its foundation.

Duties and Responsibilities:    

    Performs research to identify potential funding sources for current and future programs

    Coordinates grant development activities with external consultants as needed

    Develops, writes and submits public, private and philanthropic grants to support the college and Atlantic Cape foundation program

    Works in collaboration with Atlantic Cape staff and faculty to match funding opportunities with current programs and future program ideas

    Creates and nurtures internal and external partnerships for collaborative approaches to potential funders 

    Develops and writes proposals and generates appropriate internal and external grant paperwork to ensure timely and accurate submissions

    Monitors grant submissions to award notifications

    Ensures appropriate processes for successful grant proposal implementation that includes 

notification of program director, and business departments, college relations, proposal partners, and other appropriate stakeholders

    Ensures responsibilities are assigned for the monitoring, report writing and other follow up responsibilities

    Prepares necessary Board resolutions prior to grant submissions

    Writes and/or revises acknowledgement correspondence for government, foundation, corporate, and individual donor gifts received through grants, events sponsors, and scholarship supporters as needed

    Assists with foundation fundraising events as needed

    Performs related duties as assigned



    Bachelor’s degree


    Three years of experience in the development and writing of grant proposals with a record of successful funding 

Competencies and Skills:

    Computer literacy, specifically in the use of spreadsheets and word processing

    Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team skills

    Excellent writing and research skills with attention to detail

Terms of Employment:

    This position requires flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
