The A.R.T. program utilizes American Rescue Plan (ARP) State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) to reactivate and revitalize Atlantic City and Newark’s commercial corridors in the wake of COVID-19. Commercial corridors play a vital role in both urban and rural geographies, serving as economic engines for communities by providing jobs that keep money circulating in the local economy, offer goods and services for residents, and power entrepreneurship as well as wealth building.

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) and the Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) today announced plans to enter a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support the expansion of the GCIT’s welding and painting programs. Through the MOU, the NJEDA will provide up to $75,000 for programs that prepare students and workers for jobs in heavy steel offshore wind component manufacturing.

The NJEDA will provide $200,000 in funding and provide staff support for the Innovation Center, which is expected to contribute to establishing Atlantic City as a hub for the rapidly growing esports industry.
