Andy Kim Meets with the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey and Business Leaders to Talk About Past Successes and His Vision for the Future
LAUREL, NJ — This morning, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) spoke with members of the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey and business leaders about past successes and the Congressman’s vision for the future.
“I’m grateful to the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey for taking the time this morning to speak about some of the things we’ve accomplished together over the past four years, and the bright future ahead for businesses in our community,” said Congressman Kim. “As the only member of Congress from New Jersey on the Small Business Committee I’ve been able to help over 10,000 small businesses during the pandemic, helped bring back more than $23 million of our tax dollars back to this community, supported our Joint Base and military families, cut red tape, and increased access to capital for small businesses in this community. I look forward to continuing our work together to support businesses in this community.”
During his time in Congress, Andy Kim has worked tirelessly to make sure Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JBMDL) continues to be a staple of our district as well as making sure the servicemembers, guard, and reservists have the resources they need. Congressman Kim sits on the Armed Services committee to work on behalf of JBMDL and the people who work there, he wrote a bill that would provide all guard and reservists dental care afforded to active duty military, supported providing childcare help for families struggling to find daycare options on the base, and voted for a pay raise for our troops 11 times.
Congressman Kim has also made constituent services a top priority, returning over $30 million back to constituents over his time in Congress.
For small businesses, Congressman Kim worked tirelessly through the pandemic to make sure he could connect small businesses with the Small Business Administration (SBA) to help keep doors open and people employed. As the only member of Congress from New Jersey on the House Small Business Committee, Congressman Kim will continue to work with businesses throughout New Jersey’s 3rd District and throughout the state.
Congressman Kim is proud to represent the community where he grew up. He continues to have a strong coalition of grassroots support that has been behind him since 2018 and helped him secure two historic victories. Without taking a dime of corporate PAC money, Congressman Kim’s campaign has raised more than $5 million this cycle through grassroots support. Prior to serving in Congress, Congressman Kim worked as a civilian advisor to four-star generals and at the Pentagon, and served under both Republican and Democratic Presidents. He now resides in Moorestown with his wife Kammy and two young sons.
