Making history
Walton’s election as chair marks milestones. She is just the fourth woman and first African American to hold this position in CCSNJ’s 151-year history.
“Robin has been an active member of the CCSNJ for more than 14 years, serving in various leadership roles to help guide our organization and its work on behalf of the regional community. Not only will Robin be the fourth female chair in the organization’s history, she will be its first African American chair,” said CCSNJ Chief Executive Officer and President Christina Renna. “We are excited to work with her in this new capacity and continue to move the Chamber forward together.”
Former CCSNJ board Chair Joseph Devine lauded Walton’s leadership over the last five years as a member of the CCSNJ Executive Committee during a period of significant change for the organization. Devine also chairs the organization’s Nominating Committee.
“From helping guide the team through a leadership transition, to navigating the pandemic, to helping to shape the organization’s strategic plan and DEIB work, Robin has dedicated her time and strategic vision to move the organization forward and will continue to make a profound impact for the region’s business community,” said Devine.
“Robin’s phenomenal leadership and commitment to our region continue to advance Inspira’s mission of improving access to health care and enhancing the well-being of communities across South Jersey,” said Amy Mansue, president and CEO of Inspira Health. “Her new role as Chair of the CCSNJ Executive Committee is a testament to her tremendous skill and vision, and I speak for our entire organization when I say we are so proud of her and look forward to everything she will accomplish as she leads this prestigious body.”
