Competitive Business Solutions (CBS) brings on former Healthcare CEO, Joseph W. Devine, to lead their Healthcare Practice

NJ Healthcare Veteran Joseph W. Devine joins Competitive Business Solutions (CBS) to deliver unmatched Healthcare Process Improvement Services

TOTOWA, N.J. (PRWEB)

Joseph W. Devine, FACHE, former President & CEO of Kennedy Health System and Executive Vice President of Jefferson Health, joins Competitive Business Solutions (CBS), a New Jersey-based consulting firm, as their Healthcare Practice Lead.

A highly respected and active leader, Joe Devine became President & CEO of Kennedy Health in 2013, where he served as a senior-level executive for 30-plus years. Under Joe’s leadership, Kennedy Health was honored as one of the “Best Hospitals in the Country” by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-2015, and it was named a “Top Workplace” by Philly.com for five consecutive years, from 2014-2019.

Repeatedly recognized throughout his career, Joe received the “Senior-Level Healthcare Executive” Regent’s Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) in 2015 for his contributions toward the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE goals. Likewise, he was named to South Jersey Biz magazine’s “Power 50” list, which spotlights the region’s most influential business leaders, as well as to South Jersey Magazine’s “Who’s Who in Health Care” list. In both 2019 and 2020, Joe was also named to NJBIZ magazine’s “Power 100” list, featuring top leaders in New Jersey Health Care, as well as the “Power 50” list of New Jersey’s most impactful healthcare leaders.

Joe is the current Board Chair of the Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce and the former Board Chair of the New Jersey Hospital Association (2019), and he continues to serve on many advisory and community boards.

In 2018, Joe successfully negotiated and merged the Kennedy Health System with Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, which resulted in Kennedy becoming part of one of the largest, most prestigious health systems in the country.

“I’m excited to work with CBS,” Joe affirms. “The CBS team has the vision, passion and experience to bring solutions to healthcare in way that is much more personal for organizations, based on my experience as a CEO.” Joe continues, “Healthcare is at a critical point, and I’m thrilled to work with executives and their organizations to define and support strategies needed to be successful in this new environment.”

“Joe’s gift is that he not only understands all aspects of healthcare, but he also maintains a passion for improving patient and family experiences through laser focus on workplace process improvements and leadership development,” says Ed Hoffman, President of CBS. “Joe’s background and experience will provide valuable insight and coaching to our clients while shaping our healthcare practice.”

Joe Devine holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Philadelphia’s St. Joseph’s University. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, having earned its highest level of recognition. The father of two grown daughters and three grandchildren, Joe and his wife, Dina, reside in Washington Township, NJ.
