Governor Murphy Acts on Legislation

219th Legislative Session Economic Development Updates Legislative Updates General Business

On November 8, Governor Murphy acted on a number of bills that were sent to his desk prior to the break for the election. The Governor signed into law the following bills supported by the CCSNJ:


  • S-3091/A-4933 (Addiego, Bateman/Burzichelli, Benson, Mukherji)  Requires builders to offer unit concrete products that utilize carbon footprint-reducing technology as option in new construction; establishes tax incentives, and State and local purchasing requirements, for unit concrete products that utilize carbon footprint-reducing technology.


The Governor conditionally vetoed the following bills which the CCSNJ supported:






The Governor also conditionally vetoed A-4630/S-577 (Burzichelli/Madden, Singleton) Concerns labor harmony agreements in retail and distribution center projects, which the CCSNJ opposed. The conditional veto makes only minor changes and if signed into law, this legislation could increase costs for future owners of retail and distribution centers as well as limit the contractors that can participate in these projects. To read the conditional veto statement, click here.


Despite CCSNJ support, the Governor absolute vetoed the following bills:
