Governor Murphy Announces Operation Jersey Summer

On May 3, Governor Murphy announced the creation of Operation Jersey Summer, a coordinated campaign to reach out to residents with information & resources necessary that will help them make the decision to be vaccinated.

This announcement follows one of the recommendations from the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey's Preparing for the Next Normal Report, which proposed the creation of coordinated, statewide messaging campaign that builds confidence in residents as the pandemic ends.

The Operation Jersey Summer effort will include:
  • A Comprehensive Mutli-media Vaccine Awareness campaign
  • Walk In Appointments
  • Hub and Spoke Model for Megasites
  • Municipal Level Data
  • Civic Corps Field Campaign
  • Proactive Automated Outgoing Calls
  • Email Campaign
  • "Grateful for the Shot": an effort that will make it possible for congregants to go directly from religious services to vaccination sites.
  • "Shot & A Beer": a program to encourage eligible New Jerseyans ages 21+ to get vaccinated. Any New Jerseyan who gets their first vaccine dose in the month of May and takes their vaccination card to a participating brewery will receive a free beer.
