Governor Murphy Signs Executive Order Prohibiting Cable and Telecommunications Providers from Terminating Internet and Voice Service

On April 13th, Governor Murphy signed Executive Order 126 which prohibits Internet and phone services from being shut off until 30 days after the public health emergency. EO 126 also prohibits all service downgrades, service reductions, or late fee due to nonpayment unless they are imposed in accordance with a policy approved by the Board of Public Utilities. It will requires reconnection of internet and phone that was disconnect due to nonpayment after March 16th
