On April 30, the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey was invited to join Governor Mikie Sherrill as she announced a call for submissions for the pilot phase of the Permitting Dashboard. The pilot will solicit applications from energy, commercial, and multi-family housing projects that have recently submitted—or are about to submit—permit applications to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, New Jersey Department of Transportation, and/or New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Up to 10 projects will be randomly selected from this pool for the pilot, allowing them to track the progress of their cross-agency permits in one place. The application period will be open until May 21, and the public can find more information on Permits.NJ.Gov. Powered by the New Jersey Innovation Authority and in partnership with State agencies, the full Permitting Dashboard will eventually allow applicants and members of the public to track permit applications, across state agencies in one place. The dashboard will display target due dates, next steps, and status updates for each of their permits. This will boost transparency and accountability, helping, streamline approval timelines, and break down permitting barriers and delays. Visitors can find a preview of what the Permitting Dashboard will look like at Permits.NJ.Gov.
