To address affordable housing challenges, Atlantic City community leaders have identified rehabilitating aging and abandoned properties as a priority strategy for expanding housing availability and homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income families.

The Atlantic City Housing Accelerator is a full-day convening bringing together community development corporations, financial institutions, local government officials, and community leaders to explore scalable implementation strategies. Through expert presentations, panel discussions, and collaborative working sessions, participants will examine financing mechanisms, partnership models, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) motivated lending opportunities, and local asset mapping to build a coordinated approach to housing rehabilitation.

What’s on the Agenda?

  • Moderated Panel: Framing the Challenge and Opportunity
    This moderated panel will explore housing rehabilitation needs and pathways to homeownership for low- and moderate-income communities.
  • Discussion: Building Housing Rehabilitation at Scale
    Speakers will discuss financing mechanisms, partnerships, and development strategies for rehabilitating aging and abandoned housing stock.
  • Presentation: Engaging CRA Motivated Banks
    A Federal Reserve speaker will discuss considerations for engaging CRA motivated lenders.
  • Interactive Session: Leveraging Local Assets for Housing Rehabilitation
    This asset mapping session is designed to identify existing programs, resources, and community efforts that support housing rehabilitation.
  • Working Groups
    Participants will organize into working groups to establish action-oriented plans for ongoing collaboration.
