Description

Join the Salem Health and Wellness Foundation for our September Community Conversation – Grant Writing 101! Michael Barsanti has been writing proposals and helping others write better ones for nearly 30 years. As a fundraiser for nonprofits including the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation, he was responsible for submitting proposals to hundreds of different foundations, corporations, and government agencies, raising over $40 million dollars. He has also worked the “other side of the desk” as a specialist for the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage in Philadelphia, for which he read thousands of grant proposals and worked closely with applicants to shape successful applications. He has also taught proposal writing courses at Drexel University as part of their arts administration graduate program. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002, a M.A. from the University of Miami, and a B.A. from Williams College. Dr. Barsanti lives in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia with his wife, Erin Mooney, and their three children.
