Women are invited to build confidence, learn practical self-defense skills at Strike It Strong" on Wednesday, December 9,  from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Kempo Martial Arts and Fitness Studio in Cherry Hill.

Strike It Strong is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women through self-defense education, wellness and community-building. Proceeds benefit women in local safe havens and shelters. The program will feature hands-on, self-defense instruction designed for women of all fitness and experience levels. Participants will learn situational awareness techniques, personal safety strategies and practical skills that can help them feel more confident and prepared in everyday situations. Sensei Laurie Smith will lead the class.

Local business owners Nancy Starr and Cheryl Squadrito founded Strike It Strong in 2023. Since then, the organization has helped hundreds of women throughout the Philadelphia region learn self-defense basics in a supportive, non-intimidating environment while raising thousands of dollars to help women in crisis.
