Feedback Request: President Trump's Tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China

President Donald Trump has recently implemented several significant tariff measures:

Reciprocal Tariffs: On February 13, 2025, President Trump announced the imposition of "reciprocal tariffs" on countries that levy tariffs on U.S. goods.

Tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China: On February 1, 2025, President Trump imposed a 25 percent additional tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, and a 10 percent additional tariff on imports from China. However, following negotiations, the implementation of tariffs on Canada and Mexico has been delayed until March 4, 2025.

Increased Tariffs on Steel and Aluminum: On February 10, 2025, the administration reinstated a full 25 percent tariff on steel imports and raised tariffs on aluminum imports from 10 percent to 25 percent. This action also eliminated previous country exemptions and expanded tariffs to include key downstream products

The CCSNJ would like feedback about how these tariffs will impact your business. Any information you provide will be helpful as our Chamber continues to understand the tariff’s impact on the regional business community and our membership. Any information shared will be kept confidential, unless you are comfortable with the Chamber sharing it with elected officials in conversation on the subject.

Please send your feedback to CCSNJ Director of Government Affairs Hilary Chebra at hchebra@chambersnj.com.

We look forward to hearing from you and gaining a better understanding about how these actions could potentially impact South Jersey businesses. Thank you in advance for your feedback.
