Governor Murphy Signs Small Business Assistance Bill Package

On June 22, Governor Phil Murphy signed a package of bills which provides $235 million in additional aid to small businesses that continue to suffer from the economic effects of the pandemic. The bills allow New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) to fulfill all eligible applications submitted during Phase IV of the EDA’s Small Business Emergency Grant Program 


The CCSNJ was proud to support the bill package as it moved through the legislature.


The bill package includes the following bills:

 

A-5704/S-3796 (Mazzeo/Zwicker/Taliaferro/Addiego/Gopal/Lagana) - Appropriates $120 million from General Fund to EDA to support microbusinesses impacted by COVID-19 pandemic.


A-5705/S-3797 (Swain/Downey/Chiaravalloti/Addiego/Gopal/Lagana) - Appropriates $10 million from General Fund to EDA to support child care providers impacted by COVID-19 pandemic.


A-5706/S-3792 (Freiman/Downey/Mejia/Addiego/Gopal/Lagana) - Appropriates $20 million from General Fund to EDA to support food and beverage establishments impacted by COVID-19 pandemic.


A-5707/S-3793 (Tully/Houghtaling/McKnight/Addiego/Gopal/Lagana) - Appropriates $50 million from General Fund to EDA to support businesses and nonprofit organizations impacted by COVID-19 pandemic.


A-5708/S-3795 (Zwicker/Carter/Addiego/Gopal/Lagana) - Establishes Startup Business and Nonprofit Assistance Program in EDA to support new businesses and nonprofit organizations following COVID-19 pandemic; appropriates $25 million.


A-5709/S-3794 (Armato/Houghtaling/Lopez/Addiego/Gopal/Lagana) - Appropriates $10 million from General Fund to EDA to support Sustain and Serve NJ Program.
