Majority Leader Greenwald Introduces Mainstreet Relief Bill Package

On December 7, Majority Leader Lou Greenwald introduced the Mainstreet Relief Bill Package. This package of legislation includes six bills that aim to provide relief to struggling restaurant and holiday businesses as they navigate their economic recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic. The bill package includes the following:

  • A5133- Establishes requirements for restaurants to operate during public health emergency declared in response to coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.


  • A5134- Establishes hospitality business winter preparation purchase or reimbursement program in EDA; appropriates $50 million to EDA from federal funds.


  • A5135- Establishes Statewide standards for the use of heaters and tents by restaurants during COVID-19 public health emergency.


  • A5136- Concerns restaurant safety during coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.


  • A5137- Requires ABC to waive fee for alcoholic beverage COVID-19 Expansion Permit.


  • A5139- Concerns restaurant tents during coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic


The CCSNJ appreciates the Majority Leader's focus on assisting the businesses and residents of the state in coping with the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and looks forward to supporting these bills as they move through the legislative process.
