219th Legislative Session COVID-19 Legislative Updates Legislative Updates

On July 8, Governor Murphy announced he will be signing an Executive Order requiring masks to be worn outside in public when social distancing isn’t possible.

Exceptions to this requirement include when eating or drinking at an outdoor dining establishment, when wearing a mask would inhibit health or safety and individuals under two years old.

Masks are already required to be worn indoors per Executive Order 125.

Governor Murphy also announced a change that will allow for more restaurants to offer outdoor dining. Areas with fixed roofs that have two open sides comprising over 50% of the total wall space will be considered outdoors and allowed to be open for dining.
