The legislation will provide an estimated $12.31 billion in transportation and transit funding formula dollars for New Jersey over the next five years. The state will also receive a minimum $100 million to expand broadband internet access.
The bill also provides about $40 billion to Amtrak to help build the Gateway Project, which would replace a series of aging railway tunnels under the Hudson River between New Jersey and New York.
The CCSNJ joined several other Chambers of Commerce supporting the passage of this legislation, which will provide much needed jobs and infrastructure improvements to the state.
