Acenda Institute of Health Innovation Announce "Not Your Parents Treatment Plan” - Considerations for Gen Z and Mental Health

GLASSBORO, NJ (May, 15, 2023) – Acenda Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI) will host a webinar addressing youth mental health, one of the most pressing subjects in the United States today. Our round table panel will consist of Dr. Gregory Bunt, a highly accomplished psychiatrist specializing in adolescent psychiatry, who will be joined by two Rowan College of South Jersey students, Nancy Davidson and Jaxson Dunn. Acenda’s Chief Business and Government Relations Officer, James Curtin, will be moderating this discussion. Through the eyes of Generation Z, Nancy and Jaxson will share their experiences with youth mental health. This virtual event will take place on Thursday, May 25 at 10 a.m.

Jaxson Dunn states, “I hope to use this webinar as a catalyst to create open lines of communication between the generational youth and all other ages of people in hopes to make the youth of the community feel more comfortable and adamant about recognizing the status of their mental health, and then addressing it with other people to prompt healthy socialization and trust."

The US Surgeon General's latest report reveals that mental health issues are the primary cause of disability and poor life outcomes among young people. To shed light on this critical issue, our upcoming webinar will cover a range of topics, including the impact of digital media, the challenges of academic performance, limited access to mental health care, income inequality, racism, and gun violence on youth mental health.

“The state of youth mental health in the United States today is a significant concern, with one in five youth experiencing a mental health challenge. However, less than half of these youth receive the necessary support to address their challenges. This lack of support can have a negative impact on a young person's ability to succeed in school, form healthy relationships, and reach their full potential,” explains James Curtin.

We encourage everyone to register for the free virtual event that will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 25, and take part in the important conversations on children’s mental health. Visit the event webpage for more information.
