GLASSBORO, NJ - (November 19, 2020) - Acenda is hosting its annual Spirit of the Holidays Toy Drive virtually through December 4. Covid-19 has caused daily challenges for children, families, and communities throughout New Jersey. Acenda hopes to make this holiday season a little brighter for families greatly impacted by the pandemic.

“For the past two decades, our local community has helped us bring joy to thousands of children served by Acenda through our annual toy drive,” said Mari Considine, Chief Development & Marketing Officer, Acenda. “Keeping the health and safety of the Acenda community top of mind, this year’s Spirit of the Holidays will be held virtually, but that won’t stop us from spreading the magic of the season with children and families throughout New Jersey.”

In support of no-contact deliveries, Acenda is asking donors to purchase gifts online and have them shipped to our Glassboro headquarters. Shopping registries are available online at Amazon, Target and Walmart to allow donors to safely contribute to the awe and wonder of the holiday season for our families. Donations of gift cards are also welcomed and will be used to purchase gifts in various age groups. All monetary donations will service both our Spirit of the Holidays toy collection and Acenda programs.

Acenda’s Spirit of the Holidays toy collection runs through Friday, December 4 and benefits children throughout New Jersey receiving services from the health and social services organization. The toy collection is an annual event that has been hosted by Acenda’s legacy organization Robins’ Nest Inc. for nearly 25 years. Last year’s event provided nearly 1,700 children with gifts for the holidays.
