Bass and Blockchain: MPayz, the Global Medical Commerce Blockchain Innovator, to Get a Pro Fisherman Back on the Water

MPayz, a global healthcare technology firm, has entered the pro-fishing arena in a promotional collaboration to bring Mandel Pettus back to the water after being sidelined for the majority of the year caring for his son after receiving a debilitating disease diagnosis.

Pettus has been competing on the Major League Fishing Toyota Series since 2012, and won the 2018 Bassmaster Open at Table Rock Lake as a co-angler. These athletes are a rare breed, often mortgaging everything to follow their passion. Although over 10 million people enjoy bass fishing, there are only a select few that have the drive and ambition to make it as a professional bass angler stature.

Earlier this year Pettus was faced with one of the biggest challenges of his life, a challenge unlike anything he could ever have imagined. His 18-year-old son was diagnosed with stage four lymphoma. Pettus had no decision but to exit the water to help care for his son.  After months of ongoing treatment, his son asked him, “Dad, when are you getting back on that boat?”

This year, an estimated 80,470 people in the United States alone will be diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Worldwide, a staggering 544,352 people will be diagnosed this year alone. This disease requires intensive treatment to provide its patients with the best possible care. The problem is that most patients do not have access to these intensive treatments due to a precarious healthcare industry. MPayz plans on being a bridge for the disconnect between the hospitals and the patients that need them most.

MPayz is a consortium organization for the global healthcare industry utilizing blockchain technology. The company will bring balance to the current inequity of access for patients that are struggling to get the care they need most. Soon to release their cryptocurrency token and associated network with a mission to provide core blockchain technologies that enable companies and governments around the world to reduce cost associated with healthcare payments, eliminate data silos, and increase drug availability to the people who need it.

“MPayz helped give me the opportunity to get back to what I love to do. I look forward to working with them as we finish out this season,” said Mandel Pettus

The mission statement of MPayz is to turn healthcare into humancare, which could not be better exemplified than in this sponsorship of Pettus.  This is just one of many recent endeavors the company has embarked on during their road to public launch. Recently, an MPayz related entity, MAPay, announced a collaboration with Drexel Medical College that could change athletes lives today as we know it. Providing broad based population health management around areas like Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), access to medical records across geographic boundaries, and individual rehabilitative care.

A portion of the MPayz network is donated to the non-profit “Underserved No-More” to assist them with their mission to provide access to health deserts in both the US and across the globe.
