Compass Speaker Series – Now and Later: A Systematic Approach to Transition Preparation

Y.A.L.E. School welcomes parents and guardians, educators, service providers, and all community members to its annual Compass Speakers Series, a free presentation highlighting the developmental turning points ahead for students with special needs who are transitioning to the adult world. This series, hosted on Zoom, features a lineup of experts who will share insight on how to plan confidently for independent living, employment, higher education, and training, as well as adult services and benefits.


In this event, Michael Byrne of Lighthouse Planning Consultant helps parents prepare for and navigate financial eligibility for SSI Benefits, Adult Services, and Special Needs Trusts. Y.A.L.E. staff will also update parents on new resources and opportunities for future readiness.
