Diego Fernando Mazariego Joins Tonio Burgos & Associates New Jersey

Trenton, NJ – Diego Fernando Mazariego has joined Tonio Burgos & Associates (TBA) New Jersey, as vice president. Mazariego joins the team of Jim Kehoe and Ray Woods in managing and directing the interests and goals of the company’s New Jersey client base. Mazariego brings more than five years of public service experience to the firm that includes two years in state politics and three years in federal government positions.

Mazariego served as a legislative aide and community outreach coordinator for Assemblywoman Annette Quijano (D-20) and held the position of chief of staff in legislative office of Assemblyman Gabriel Rodriguez (D-33). In this role, he assisted the freshman legislator with budget proposals that secured vital funding for the district, established the office, and connected the team with key organizations around the state. Additionally, he initiated legislation to benefit the residents of the district and played a significant role in supporting the Latino Legislative Caucus by organizing events and meetings.

Mazariego spent three years working in the United States Senate as a constituent advocate and outreach advisor. He focused on issues related to the State Department and the Foreign Relations Committee, managing portfolios that included transportation, healthcare, education, the environment, diversity, equity, inclusion, as well as outreach to Latino and AAPI communities.

As an immigrant from El Salvador, Mazariego arrived in the United States at the age of nine with his parents and brother. He is committed to pursuing the American Dream. Throughout his public service career, he has advocated for legislation that benefits not only the immigrant community but also the residents of New Jersey as a whole.

Mazariego graduated with an associate degree from Hudson County Community College in 2014, a bachelor's degree from Kean University in 2019 and a master's degree from Rutgers University in 2022.
