Flaster Greenberg welcomed four new attorneys to the firm this week
Insurance Recovery Practice Continues to Grow at Flaster Greenberg with Addition of Three New Attorneys, Further Expanding South Florida Footprint
Boca Raton, FL (September 17, 2020) – Flaster Greenberg announced today that three more attorneys are being added to its Insurance Recovery practice, shortly after announcing another prominent group had joined the practice from the same firm. Shareholder Meghan C. Moore and attorneys Nicole A. Jospehy and Michael E. Iles, formerly of Weisbrod Matteis & Copley in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, will help solidify Flaster Greenberg’s presence in Southern Florida, where it currently maintains an office in Boca Raton.
This announcement comes just weeks after the firm welcomed back Lee M. Epstein and John G. Koch, also from WMC whom were both previously shareholders at Flaster Greenberg, and brought on Matthew A. Goldstein from WMC, bringing with them a nationally known Insurance Recovery Practice.
The South Florida insurance recovery team represents business and individual policyholders in coverage disputes with their insurance companies following catastrophic events such as hurricanes and other weather-related events and also in construction defect disputes.
“We are thrilled to have this remarkable group join our Flaster family and further represent our firm’s Southern arm,” said Alan H. Zuckerman, Managing Shareholder at Flaster Greenberg. “With their practice and skillset, they will add substantial bench strength to the firm’s Insurance Recovery practice, and will serve as a resource for our other practice areas. They also will enhance our presence in the Sunshine State and will expand our reach and add capacity to our firm’s Boca Raton office.”
“I am thrilled to be joining Flaster Greenberg,” said Moore. “They are a business firm with an entrepreneurial spirit and have a dynamic and talented group of lawyers whose practices complement mine. Mike, Nicole and I are looking forward to helping them grow their insurance recovery practice on the east coast."
Moore joins the firm’s Insurance Recovery and Litigation Groups and focuses her practice on representing both businesses and individuals in complex coverage and bad faith disputes with their insurance companies. She concentrates on helping companies secure coverage for defense and indemnity when facing high stakes litigation and assists them in recovering property and business interruption benefits when they suffer catastrophic losses from natural disasters. Her practice also includes representing policyholders in disputes under commercial general liability, commercial property, fidelity, directors and officers, errors and omissions, and securities liability insurance policies. For 17 years, Moore has been helping Florida property owners impacted by hurricanes and has recovered more than $40 million on behalf of Florida condominiums and hotels after the 2004-2005 hurricane seasons, and to date she has recovered more than $20 million on behalf of businesses and individuals impacted by Hurricane Irma.
Josephy joins the firm’s Insurance Recovery and Litigation Groups and focuses her practice on complex civil litigation, representing individual and business policyholders in insurance coverage litigation in both state and federal courts. She began her career as an associate at the largest Florida-based litigation firm. During that time, she focused in the practice areas of general commercial litigation and civil litigation, with an emphasis in construction litigation. This included the representation of general contractors, developers, design professionals, subcontractors, materials suppliers, manufacturers, owners, and other entities in construction defect, and contract claims.
Iles joins the firm’s Insurance Recovery and Litigation Groups focusing his practice on representing plaintiffs in insurance coverage disputes. He represents insured individuals and entities and has defended against third-party claims involving premises liability, automobile liability, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. Prior to his legal career, Iles served four years on active duty in the United States Navy.
Over the last two and a half years, Flaster Greenberg has added 29 new attorneys and opened offices in Conshohocken, PA; Jenkintown, PA; Princeton, NJ; and Boca Raton, FL.
In addition to the Florida group, Cherry Hill, NJ-based associate Kelly Barry has joined the firm in the Corporate and Tax Groups effective September 15th.
This summer, the firm welcomed back two insurance recovery shareholders and added one more to the Philadelphia office. Earlier this year, Flaster Greenberg announced the addition of an 11-member patent group to the Philadelphia office as part of the firm’s ongoing growth strategy. Prior to that, the firm announced that the attorneys and staff of estate planning boutique law firm Plotnick & Ellis joined Flaster Greenberg, bringing with them a team of six attorneys, two paralegals, and five administrative staff members and a new office location. Additionally, the firm recently welcomed corporate attorney and former Moorestown, NJ Mayor Christopher Chiacchio as well as litigation attorneys Daniel Epstein and Krishna Jani. The firm was also named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey by NJBiz in 2018 and by South Jersey Biz magazine in 2017. Earlier this year, the firm announced the election of Courtney Dolaway, Angie Gambone, Lauren Schwimmer and Damien Tancredi as shareholders effective January 1, 2020. This group marks the first associate to shareholder promotions since 2016, and was a result of a renewed emphasis on revamping the firm’s internal structure to enhance the advancement of attorneys into shareholder ranks and to transition leadership positions to a younger generation, who are considered to be the future of the firm.
“As Flaster Greenberg continues to grow, both regionally and with new practice areas, we work to strategically identify talented attorneys to join our team,” said Zuckerman. “With the addition of Meghan, Nicole and Mike, we are confident that this will create promising opportunities for both the firm and our clients.”
