HEADstrong Foundation Creates Philadelphia Corporate Challenge to PHIght Cancer In Region

(PHILADELPHIA, PA - May 10, 2021) The HEADstrong Foundation, a Philadelphia-area based non-profit organization established to improve lives affected by cancer, is launching a city-wide corporate PHIght Cancer Challenge on Tuesday, June 1 to engage businesses in its mission of aiding local families and those displaced to the region in pursuit of advanced cancer care.

“The PHIght Cancer Challenge is an opportunity for local businesses to take community engagement, civic leadership and charitable giving to the next level,” said President Cheryl Colleluori. “Navigating cancer amidst the pandemic has been very challenging for thousands of families from major delays in care to new and increased expenses.”

“We hope to engage Philadelphia-based businesses to go ‘HEAD to HEAD’ against their peers and competitors and drive pledges for families that are in the PHIght of their lives,” added Colleluori.

Businesses can register to participate, engage and empower their employees and make a difference in the community beginning on Tuesday, June 1 by registering at PHIghtCancerChallenge.com.

Funds raised through the month-long campaign will directly support HEADstrong programs as it tries to meet the overwhelming demand that challenges from COVID-19 have poised to families affected by cancer. This includes increasing financial assistance to families in the region by more than 40%, funding 2,555 days and nights at Nick’s House for families that are displaced to Philadelphia for treatment, construction of The Annex at Nick’s House and much more.

In addition to helping members of the community that are struggling, participants in the PHIght Cancer Challenge will have the opportunity to compete for great company-wide and individual prizes. Top company prizes include a virtual talk with best-selling author and motivational speaker Jon Gordon, as well as a “Power of Fun” pep talk from mascot extraordinaire Dave Raymond, and cancer survivor, former NFL coach, Paul McCord,  HEADstrong will award the top individual fundraiser with a Peloton bike, and the 2nd place finisher with Lululemon Mirror home workout system.

Founded in 2007 by the late Nicholas Colleluori, the HEADstrong Foundation is relentless in improving the quality of life for those affected by cancer with financial, emotional and residential support including Nick’s House.
