Holman and United Way mark 80 years of partnership

Holman, a global automotive leader headquartered in Mount Laurel, and United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey celebrated 80 years of partnership and supporting communities throughout the region.
As part of the celebration, more than two dozen Holman volunteers participated in a Day of Caring at UrbanPromise in Pennsauken as part of Holman’s annual campaign with the United Way.
Throughout April, hundreds of Holman employees volunteer with dozens of nonprofit organizations across the region to make an impact in the communities where Holman operates.
Bill Cariss, president and CEO, Strategic Ventures, Holman; Bill Golderer, president and CEO, United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey; and Jasmine Johnson, director, Engagement & Social Responsibility, Holman, attended the event.
“Our founder, Steward C. Holman, believed that businesses have a responsibility beyond the balance sheet — that success should be measured not only by growth but by how we support our people and our communities,” said Johnson.
“This philosophy is ingrained in Holman’s identity and continues to guide us today.”
Each year, Holman donates a percentage of its annual operating profits to hundreds of nonprofit organizations throughout the regions in which it operates in North America, the United Kingdom and Germany.
These donations have exceeded $1 million each year since 2014 and, more recently, have eclipsed $6 million annually. Additionally, Holman employees spend more than 8,000 hours each year volunteering to support a variety of nonprofit organizations.
Serving Pennsylvania’s Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, and New Jersey’s Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May and Cumberland counties, United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey leads solutions that provide immediate relief and long-term achievement.
