Inspira unveils new Woodbury pavilion set to open this fall with satellite emergency department, inpatient behavioral health program

Inspira Health unveiled its two-story pavilion and EMS building in Woodbury on Tuesday. Located at 30 Oak St. in Woodbury, directly across from Inspira’s existing satellite emergency department, the state-of-the-art 25,000-square-foot satellite emergency department and 18,500-square-foot inpatient behavioral health program is scheduled to open this fall.

Inspira Health is finalizing submission for Department of Health approvals.

The new behavioral health space will represent a first-of-its-kind single-occupancy short-term care program for adults in the region. This project is part of a larger reinvestment and redevelopment of the Woodbury campus, which also includes the recently remodeled medical office building and family medicine center.

“The redevelopment of our services in Woodbury illustrates Inspira’s unwavering dedication to enhancing health care services, greater access and addressing the growing demands of the community,” Amy Mansue, CEO and president of Inspira Health, said. “We’re not just building facilities; we’re creating a health care experience that adapts to and anticipates the needs of those we serve. This new construction on the Woodbury campus reflects our vision where advanced care and innovation intersect.”

The new satellite emergency department will include 20 private treatment rooms, which are larger than those in the existing Woodbury ED. The larger size will support inclusive family-team health care, which is especially important for families with children. Additionally, four rooms are specially designed to create a safe and calming environment for patients in crisis. The new ED features comfortable furniture with built-in charging stations, hydration stations and large-screen TVs in each room.

The new inpatient behavioral health center offers 20 first-of-its-kind in the region, private rooms, enhancing privacy and safety. The unit is significantly larger than the existing one on the Woodbury campus and incorporates an open floor plan design and furnishings that promote safety and well-being.

“Seeing this plan come to fruition is a milestone day and win for Woodbury. The need for critically important and advanced behavioral health care services, a new, state-of-the-art emergency department and new EMS station all represent the delivery of fundamental resources for individuals and families in South Jersey today and for years to come,” state Sen. Nilsa Cruz-Perez (D-Camden) said.

Perez, along with Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald (D-Voorhees), Assemblyman William “Bill” Moen (D-Barrington), and Assemblyman William “Bill” Spearman (D-Woodbury) all played crucial roles in helping Inspira navigate the process, secure funds and support the construction of the site.

“We are immensely proud of the forward-thinking and successful collaboration Inspira Health and the city of Woodbury have embarked on in providing greater access to care through these much-needed behavioral health, emergency department and EMS sites of service for our residents and visitors. The future is bright for Woodbury, and we will continue partnering to deliver top tier quality of life enhancements in Gloucester and surrounding counties,” Woodbury Mayor Kyle Miller said.

Inspira’s development partner for the Woodbury redevelopment project is CBRE.
