Jefferson Health's 2026 New Jersey Gala Raises More Than $475,000 to Support Services

Atlantic City, NJ, March 11, 2026 – More than $475,000 was raised through Jefferson Health’s recent New Jersey Gala at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. Some 400 guests attended the event, which featured entertainment by Go Go Gadjet, a nationally touring live band known for its high-energy performances, which blend top musicians, dynamic vocalists and creative medleys of popular hits.
One of the evening's most impactful moments was the presentation of the 2026 Healthcare Hero Award to Tamara LaCouture, MD, Chief of Cancer Services for the East Region. Under her leadership, the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Centers in Cherry Hill and Washington Township have expanded significantly, including the addition of medical oncology suites and a growing clinical trials program. Dr. LaCouture, has also led the development of the new Cherry Hill cancer center and the introduction of adaptive radiation therapy using the Ethos™ linear accelerator system — making Jefferson the first oncology center in South Jersey to adopt the artificial intelligence-driven technology. The system enables highly precise and personalized treatments that target tumors more effectively while minimizing side effects.
Winners of the 2026 Giving Tank, a Jefferson initiative, were also announced at the Gala. Grants totaling $150,000 — funded through the Jefferson Health Foundation – New Jersey — were awarded to support employees’ best ideas to elevate patient care or staff well-being.
Funded initiatives include:
$25,000 — Heart Failure Red Bag Home Kits: At-home monitoring tools, such as scales, blood pressure cuffs and medication organizers, to help high-risk patients detect symptoms early and reduce readmissions.
$25,000 — "Call, Don't Fall" Education & Awareness Initiative: A permanent visual cue installed above patient beds to reinforce fall-prevention behavior and reduce inpatient falls and injuries.
$50,000 — Behavioral Health Crisis Unit Redesign: Environmental upgrades that improve patient dignity, safety and therapeutic space while supporting staff workflow at Cherry Hill.
$50,000 — Pediatric Code Carts: Color-coded, length-based emergency carts designed to improve speed, dosing accuracy and team confidence during pediatric emergencies.
