Mayor Carstarphen and DoorDash Celebrate Partnership Addressing Food Insecurity

Through its Community Credits program, DoorDash and the City of Camden will provide funding for local nonprofit organizations and support for efforts to combat food insecurity


CAMDEN, NJ – On Thursday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m., Mayor Victor Carstarphen, DoorDash, and local nonprofit organizations will be celebrating a new partnership through the company’s Community Credits program to address food insecurity at the North Camden Community Center.

In the lead up to September’s Hunger Action Month, DoorDash is working with Mayor Carstarphen to help reduce food insecurity tied to the company’s commitment in support of the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health by providing gift cards to local organizations that are working to broaden food access.

At the event, representatives from Center for Family Service, Food Bank of South Jersey, and the American Red Cross New Jersey Region will be in attendance to make remarks and receive ceremonial gift cards to kick off the partnership. Members of the Camden City Council and City of Camden Department of Human Services will also be in attendance to address the state of food insecurity and highlight the importance of these programs to combat hunger.
