Mayor Victor Carstarphen and Community Partners Provide Donated Turkeys, Hot Meals, and Winter Apparel To Camden Families For Thanksgiving


CAMDEN, NJ – Mayor Victor Carstarphen will be joined by City Council Members, Community Leaders, NFI, EMR, The Michaels Organization, The Jason Thompson Foundation, Wholesome Riches, Cooper University Health Care, Virtua Health, Save A Lot, One Camden, Live Nation, Amerigroup, the Mayor’s Staff and Team Camden volunteers as they look to celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday by providing more than 600 turkeys, 150 hot meals, 200 turkey breasts, non-perishable foods, winter coats, hats, and gloves for Camden families.


The effort is coordinated as a part of Mayor Victor Carstarphen’s Annual Turkey Giveaway. More than 600 turkeys have been generously donated by Camden based companies EMR, NFI and The Michaels Organization as a part of a free community event scheduled for Saturday, November 18th at Roosevelt Plaza Park in downtown Camden. The Jason Thompson Foundation will also collaborate with the City of Camden, providing 150 hot meal boxes at the same event on November 18th. Then just two days later, on Monday, November 20th, Wholesome Riches will donate 200 turkey breasts and non-perishable foods at the City’s North Camden Community Center. One Camden, Wholesome Riches, and other partners will also provide donated coats, hats, and gloves for Camden for residents.


Turkeys and hot meal boxes can be picked up at the following location:

 

Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10:00am to 2:00pm

Roosevelt Plaza Park (adjacent to Camden City Hall - 520 Market Street, Camden, NJ 08101)


Turkey breasts and non-perishable meal boxes can be picked up at the following location:


Monday, November 20, 2023 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm

North Camden Community Center (1000 North 6th Street, Camden, NJ 08102)

It always makes me proud to see our community come together to support our residents. I am grateful to the generous donors at NFI, EMR, The Michaels organization, The Jason Thompson Foundation, Wholesome Riches, and so many other caring partners who bring joy to our Camden families during the entire holiday season.”
