Mayor Victor Carstarphen And Team Camden Volunteers Kick-Off The 2023 Camden Strong-Clean Camden Campaign

Fourteen Neighborhood Cleanup Dates Announced For Spring & Summer


CAMDEN, NJ – Mayor Victor Carstarphen, Camden County Commissioners, City Council President Angel Fuentes, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Camden County Police Department, City’s Department of Public Works, Camden Fire Department, Camden City School District, City of Camden staff, corporate and community partners: COVANTA, EMR, WEMG-MEGA 105.7 FM, The Michaels Organization, Electronic Manufacturers Recycling Management Company (MRM), Virtua Health, CAMCare, St. Joseph’s Carpenter Society, American Water, Subaru, Camden Community Partnership, Campbell’s Soup, Temple University, Wholesome Riches, Camden Lutheran Housing Inc., Coriell Institute, Salvation Army Kroc Center, GovDesigns, LiveView Technologies, PowerCorps, and a host of “Team Camden” volunteers will announce the official kick-off, the third year of the Camden Strong-Clean Camden Campaign.

The Mayor’s Camden Strong initiative began in 2021, and focuses on the implementation of a series of targeted activities aimed at improving community health and quality of life by deterring illegal dumping, enhancing public safety efforts, and responding to nuisance concerns impacting the Camden community. Mayor Carstarphen along with the City’s partners will hold a press conference on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. at 22nd and Harrison Avenue Park (across from The Salvation Army Kroc Center located at 1865 Harrison Ave., Camden, NJ 08105) in the Cramer Hill neighborhood of the City. The City of Camden will be on-site to pick up debris including large bulk trash items. Partner MRM will be providing free electronic recycling collection at the event. Residents will be able to obtain information relating to recycling, e-waste, trash disposal, and litter prevention in addition to other initiatives and City programs. The Camden Strong initiative will continue throughout the summer with an expanded series of fourteen neighborhood cleanups and cemetery cleanups.

The next neighborhood cleanup event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in the Bergen Square neighborhood (5th Street & Chestnut Street & Newton Avenue).
