Samaritan Announces 2023 Day of Giving September 7-8

Samaritan, the region’s leading provider of home-based primary care, palliative medicine, hospice care, social connections and grief support, has announced their 2023 Day of Givingslated for Thursday, September 7, through Friday, September 8, 2023.

The 2023 Day of Giving will support the endowment for The Mary Ann Boccolini Institute for Education, Research & Innovation by encouraging Samaritan board members, volunteers, friends, and the community to join in the virtual day of giving by hosting their own peer-to-peer fundraising pages, sharing on social media, and donating directly.

“Samaritan’s Day of Giving is a unique opportunity to engage the broader community we serve,” said Robin Keyack, development chair, Samaritan. “We invite the community to join us in our efforts to raise awareness and advance our charitable mission by encouraging their networks to connect more deeply with Samaritan.”

The Boccolini Institute at Samaritan – named for Samaritan’s immediate past President and CEO Mary Ann Boccolini – is dedicated to advancing Samaritan’s expertise and thought leadership by providing fellowships in hospice and palliative medicine, as well as providing nursing scholarships for those pursuing education in the field of hospice and palliative care.

The Institute also conducts research to support evidence-based, best practices in home-based care, social connections, and other social determinants of health, and presents fully accredited continuing education programs, as well as a speaker’s bureau. Through partnerships with medical, nursing and other academic institutions, The Boccolini Institute offers clinical rotations, internships and other student learning experiences to hundreds of students each year.

The Boccolini Institute convenes South Jersey thought leaders around important challenges that face an aging population while leading the advancement of essential palliative care by training clinicians, advancing the best practices and empowering patients and their families,” said Phillip W. Heath, president and CEO, Samaritan. “We thank the community for their continued support and generous contributions to our 2023 Day of Giving campaign.”
