Seashore Lines Celebrates 30 Years

Member Announcements

Cape May Seashore Lines (CMSL) is a short line / regional railroad that provides freight rail services for business entities desiring to transport their products, materials and goods between New Jersey and global markets. The Seashore Lines also offers passenger rail excursion service between Richland, Atlantic County and Tuckahoe, Cape May County, a 30-mile round trip on the former Reading Company's steel speedway to the shore.

The Seashore Lines operated its inaugural train service on May 18, 1996, beginning a 30 year journey of providing passenger rail excursion and freight rail service in southern New Jersey. The Seashore Lines actively supports, promotes and participates in local events, while its excursion trains regularly showcase local businesses and products - from wineries and breweries to restaurants and tourism partners. Its excellent safety record and popularity are reflected in the thousands of passengers it carries each year on its trains.

From January through March, 2025 the Seashore Lines safely and successfully provided train movements for the filming of Steven Spielberg's upcoming 2026 feature film. This effort significantly boosted the local economy and generated widespread visibility for the region.

The Seashore Lines looks forward to continuing to provide its services to Atlantic, Cape May and Camden Counties for decades to come!
