Bridgeport, NJ — March 12, 2026 — SMS Rail Service is pleased to announce that Carla Schuster has joined the company as Business Development Manager, where she will focus on expanding commercial opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting the continued growth of SMS’s rail, logistics, and transloading services.

Schuster brings more than three decades of experience in international logistics and isotank operations, with a proven record of delivering strategic growth across the Americas. Most recently, she served as Head of Region and Commercial – The Americas for Suttons International, where she directed commercial operations across North and South America. In that role, she led regional strategy development and managed a team of more than 40 professionals across sales and operations.

Throughout her career, Schuster has demonstrated a strong ability to translate commercial strategy into measurable results. Her expertise includes regional market expansion, strategic pricing, network optimization, and key account management. She has also represented her organizations at major industry conferences such as APLA, AFPM, and ITCA.

Earlier in her career, Schuster spent nearly three decades with VTG GmbH and VTG North America, where she progressed through roles in sales, operations, and finance while supporting the growth of international logistics and isotank services throughout the Americas.

Carla holds an Associate Degree in Marketing and German from Dublin Business School in Dublin, Ireland.
