South Jersey Auto Giant to Buy Billion-Dollar North Carolina Dealership Group
Mount Laurel-based Holman Auto Group last week said it plans to acquire Raleigh, North Carolina-based Leith Automotive Group, one of the largest car dealership companies in North Carolina, for an undisclosed price.
The deal is expected to close by the end of March.
Leith, a firm founded 56 years ago, describes itself as North Carolina’s largest source of new and used vehicles. It sells new vehicles from 25 manufacturers and operates more than 30 dealerships.
As part of the agreement, the Leith name, the entire Leith team and the Leith brand all remain in place.
“Leith and Holman are highly respected, family-owned businesses that place the highest priority on the growth and well-being of their valued employees and on creating unparalleled purchase and ownership experiences for their customers,” a joint statement from the two companies said. “Over the past 56 years, the Leith family has built an incredible organization and a large, close-knit family of employee partners, and Holman is committed to keeping their tradition of success moving forward.”
Holman has 40 dealership franchises representing 20 brands, according to its website.
In South Jersey, Holman has: BMW and Cadillac dealerships in Mount Laurel; Ford and Lincoln dealerships in Maple Shade and Turnersville; an Infinity dealership in Maple Shade; Toyota and Mini dealerships in Mount Laurel; and a Mercedes-Benz Van dealership in Maple Shade.
