South Jersey Coping Clinic Founder Helps to Enact Counseling Compact in NJ
Vanessa Woods who is the founder of South Jersey Coping Clinic helps to enact the counseling compact in the state of NJ. New Jersey is the 32nd state to enact legislation that would enable greater access and health equity in mental health. The previous model for licensed mental health professionals made it difficult for clients to have continued care if they moved, traveled often for work, were active in the military, or lived in a rural community. Now therapy seekers will have reduced barriers for continuing to work with their providers which is a huge step for mental health. Governor Murphy signed the bill (A5311/S3061) into law on January 16th, 2024.
