Teen-Led Career Expo Connects Atlantic City Youth with Hospitality Careers
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ -- The Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, in partnership with Caesars Entertainment and the Boys & Girls Club of America, hosted a Teen-Led Career Expo on January 14, offering local teens hands-on exposure to careers within the casino and hospitality industry.
“Tonight wasn’t just a game night; this event was a real opportunity for our teens to explore careers and see what’s possible,” said Melissa Morillo, Workforce NJ Program Director, who worked with Caesars to organize the event. “When young people feel seen, supported, and included in real-world experiences, their confidence grows. We’re grateful for partners who invest in their growth and workforce readiness.”
Held at the Club’s Teen Center, the interactive event gave students hands-on exposure to a variety of career paths, including security, food and beverage, gaming operations, and leadership. Teens participated in hands-on, role-based activities that simulated real workplace scenarios and practiced essential skills such as communication, teamwork, customer service, and professionalism.
Building on these experiences, the event also featured a student-led panel discussion with Caesars Entertainment employees, who shared their career journeys, discussed job opportunities, and offered practical advice on preparing for the workforce. Teens asked questions, took part in speed interviews, and engaged in guided reflection activities to help them connect their interests to potential careers.
“We are thankful to Caesars Entertainment for being such a committed community partner,” said Tracey Triniwell, CEO, Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City (BGCAC). “By engaging directly with our teens, they’re helping young people understand what employers value and see that real career opportunities are possible right here at home.”
