The BGCGC Welcomes New Board Member Shakema Geer
BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF GLOUCESTER COUNTY WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBER SHAKEMA GEER
Glassboro, NJ, August 19, 2021 – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County is welcoming Shakema Geer into its Board of Directors. The current Board of Directors approved her nomination on Thursday, August 19th.
Shakema Geer is a Relationship Banker for Truist Financial Corporation, previously Branch Banking & Trust (BB&T). She is also a writer, author, educator, and motivational speaker. She graduated from Wilmington University with a degree in Communication after being inducted into the Delta Epsilon Rho Honor Society. Shakema is also a member of Rowan College of South Jersey’s Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. For over 10 years, she has partnered with schools, group homes, and youth correctional facilities to host reading and writing workshops for students. She has succeeded in increasing company visibility, managing corporate strategies, expansion, and growth for various organizations. She is committed to the student communities that she serves and has a passion for financial education. Shakema enjoys yoga and kayaking in her free time.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to serving the youth in Gloucester County. The organization was founded in 2005 and is part of a network of 4,300 Boys & Girls Clubs, including 22 in New Jersey. Its mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. It has two Club locations in both Paulsboro and Glassboro. The organization has academic, health & wellness, financial literacy, and character-building programs to help put its Club members on a path to success.
