A WSFS Mortgage study found most homeowners with knowledge of reverse mortgages agree they can allow you to stay in your home longer (79%) and provide needed cash flow (76%) in retirement.

Among the survey’s other findings:

• 31% report not being knowledgeable at all about reverse mortgages, while just 7% report being very knowledgeable, underscoring educational opportunities.
• 65% said they had a better understanding of credit cards, a traditional mortgage (61%) and personal loans (60%).
• 34% said they would probably or definitely consider a reverse mortgage if it was relevant to their financial situation.
