2026 Camden County Summer Youth Work Experience Program

2026 Camden County Summer Youth Work Experience Program

SYWEP is an 8-week summer program serving 73 Camden County residents ages 16–24. Participants are carefully selected through a competitive application and interview process and arrive ready to contribute, learn, and grow.

  • Why participate as a work-learn site?
  • Access to pre-screened, motivated interns at no wage cost to your organization
  • Opportunity to mentor and shape emerging talent
  • Build your talent pipeline and community impact
  • Strengthen connections with the local workforce system

How it works:

  • Interns complete work readiness training during Week 1 (June 29–July 1)
  • Interns work at your site for Weeks 2–8 (July 6–August 21)
  • Each intern works 20 hours per week on a schedule determined by you
  • Interns are paid by the Camden County Workforce Development Board (CCWDB) and covered under their worker’s compensation policy

Employer responsibilities include:

  • Providing meaningful, supervised work experience aligned with identified skill areas.
  • Completing weekly timesheets with the intern
  • Covering any required pre-employment clearances (if applicable)

Important Dates:

  • Work-Learn Site Agreement Due: May 8, 2026
  • Mandatory Employer Orientation: May 6 or May 12. In-person at Camden County College (Cherry Hill Campus)

If you're interested in hosting an intern this summer, please scan the QR code or go to bit.ly/EmployersCCWDB  to complete an interest form and receive the Employer Application packet. Applications are due by May 8. Spots are limited, and placements fill quickly.
