Rutgers Law School (RLS) seeks an experienced and strategically-minded Assistant Dean II with a record of setting and achieving student success goals to lead our Bar Studies Program in Camden. The successful candidate must be creative and organized and should possess a deep understanding of the bar exam, and analytical, quantitative, and collaborative skills. The Assistant Dean II must possess a commitment to advancing bar passage rates in Camden through a variety of bar-related interventions and careful monitoring of student success from matriculation through bar admission.
The Assistant Dean II of Bar Studies in Camden will report to the Associate/Assistant Dean of Bar Studies and work closely with the faculty and administration. The Assistant Dean II will assist in designing, implementing, and managing programming to improve and maintain bar passage rates at RLS so that they are at or above those of peer institutions. The Assistant Dean II will also assist the Assistant/Associate Dean of Bar Studies in developing, teaching, and supervising courses focused on bar passage. Th position, in conjunction with the academic success faculty, will also assist with academic success programming at RLS and use student data and resources from internal and external partners. The Assistant Dean II will be responsible for tracking bar data and reporting, and championing data-driven decisions that meet bar passage and student success goals. Lastly, will also help manage contractual relationships with vendors related to bar studies.

Minimum Education & Experience:
· J.D. from an ABA-approved law school with strong academic credentials. Current or prior admission to the bar of at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
· A minimum of 3 years of law-related experience, post law school graduation.
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in bar exam advising and/or tutoring.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
· Exemplary professional, administrative, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent oral and written proficiency as well as strong organizational abilities.
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
· Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and to manage others.
· Demonstrated ability to think creatively and critically about techniques to improve law students’ bar readiness and to design, implement, and arrange innovative programs to promote bar passage success.
· Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information, exhibit good judgement, and provide customer service in working with students, faculty, and staff.
· Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with data, empirical analysis, and software applications. Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
· Ability to apply creative problem-solving skills to develop solutions within established policies, guidelines, accreditation standards, and applicable law.
Preferred Qualifications:
· At least 3 years of prior law school administrative experience, preferably related to bar preparation or academic support.
· Prior experience directing or supporting a law school bar preparation or academic support program. Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques within a legal or higher education setting.
