Summary:
The Assistant Dean III, Nursing Student Success Coach and Retention Specialist collaborates with administrators, faculty, advisors, data analytics professionals, and student support services to design and implement data-informed retention initiatives that support undergraduate student success and align with established program goals and priorities. The position supports student engagement with learning tools and educational resources to improve academic performance and program outcomes.

Minimum Education & Experience:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Education.
- Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential.
- Experience in undergraduate nursing education, student retention, academic coaching, or nursing student success initiatives.
- Experience supporting NCLEX preparation, clinical reasoning development, and nursing-specific academic success strategies.
- Experience managing tutoring programs, peer academic support services, or academic remediation initiatives.
- Experience utilizing data analytics, dashboards, and student success reporting systems to monitor progression and retention trends.
- Experience participating in nursing program accreditation, assessment, or continuous quality improvement processes.
- Experience facilitating workshops, student success programming, or educational support initiatives in higher education.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices, student engagement strategies, and support services for diverse student populations.

This position requires advanced knowledge of undergraduate nursing education, student success strategies, academic coaching, clinical reasoning development, and retention practices to effectively support undergraduate nursing students and coordinate student success initiatives. Advanced knowledge of nursing education and student support processes is necessary to assess student academic performance, identify barriers to success, develop individualized intervention strategies, support remediation efforts, and collaborate with academic leadership and others regarding student progression and retention initiatives.

- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, administration, faculty, staff, advisors, and campus partners.
- Knowledge of student success, retention, academic coaching, remediation, and evidence-informed educational support strategies.
- Experience working with diverse student populations in higher education settings.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive student information.
- Experience coordinating student support initiatives, workshops, academic support services, or educational programming.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience utilizing student information systems, learning management systems, early alert systems, and educational technologies.
- Ability to learn and utilize institutional systems including Navigate, Canvas, REGIS-EGIS, and related student success and reporting platforms.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
Equipment Utilized:
Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and standard office equipment, including printers, scanners, telephones, audiovisual equipment, and classroom technology. Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems, student information systems, and student success technologies including Navigate, Canvas, REGIS, virtual meeting platforms, and related educational software and reporting tools.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in a standard office and academic environment. Physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, speaking, and working at a computer workstation. Position may require light lifting, filing, transporting materials, and movement between offices, classrooms, tutoring spaces, and meeting locations across campus. The position requires frequent use of computers and virtual communication platforms for meetings, coaching, documentation, reporting, and student support activities. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support student programming, workshops, orientations, recruitment activities, or special events.
